Current Prayer Letter

January  1, 2017

 Dear Family and Friends,
November/December 2016

"Balao na i kue na iri ti Jesus."
"Hello to you all in the name of Jesus."

We trust that you all had a blessed time with family and friends for Thanksgiving, and we pray that you will have a Wonderful, Christ filled Christmas this year.  May you know the joy of Jesus, now and the whole year through.
Juliana is staying with a family member in Bangui, and continuing High School.
Thank you all for praying for us for our travels. We had a wonderful time in South Africa, visiting the Einfeldts, and some of their friends.  We were able to see some of the ministries that they were involved in with the youth and orphans.  They were very gracious hosts and made sure that our trip was enjoyable.  Some things that we saw and were highlights of our trip were: museums, Table Mountain, Cape Point, Seal Island, penguins, an animal reserve, and an ultralight ride over that reserve, for each of us.
We are praising the Lord for your interest in our ministry for His Glory.
                 Our schedule:
Dec 9 - Christmas Concert, Lancaster, PA; Dec 11- Marietta, NY; Dec 12-16 -
Winston Salem, NC; Dec 18 - Bridgewater, NY; Jan 8 - Newark Valley, NY; Jan 15 - Sunnyside, NY am; and Fair Haven, NY pm; Jan 22 - Constantia, NY; Jan
29 - Memphis, NY; February - Possible trip to CAR for Charlie; March 5 - German, NY; March 12 - Angelica, NY; March 19 - Waterbury, CT.
What a wonderful time we have already had at the churches that we have visited. Seeing family and friends, old and new, is a blessing.  Churches that we have already been in are: Farmington NY, Harpursville NY, East Pharsalia NY, Skaneatles NY, Columbus OH, Pulaski NY, Phoenix NY, Waneta Lake NY, Cincinnatus, NY and Tunkhannock, Pa.
In September and October, problems in CAR have escalated. Since our arrival home we have had news of CAR that weighs heavy on our hearts.   Ippy Hospital was threatened with destruction and personnel threatened. A law suit was brought in the courts and settled (against the hospital), but the threats are continuing.  It is functioning for emergency cases and minimal services only, until all threats cease.
There have been problems in Kilometer 5 in Bangui. Hearing about the murders of pastors not of our association, and rebels still wanting to split the country, are heartbreaking.   Please pray for believers in CAR to keep a good testimony, be protected and stay strong.
Kaga Bandoro, KB, (north of Bangui), and Kouango (north east of Bangui, Bambari area), have had parsonages and churches burned.  A refugee camp was attacked and over 450 structures, (tents and temporary huts), were burned. Many homes had grenades thrown into them.  Also, at our campus for the Bible School, the director's home was burned, student residences were destroyed, and the Bible School classroom building was emptied.  Everyone fled to the UN base for refuge, but all are living in very difficult conditions.  World Relief funds ($5,000) were sent, provisions bought, clothing donated, but one of the trucks carrying these things back to KB was stopped and robbed
and only about half of the items donated arrived at KB.  We are praising the Lord that no one was killed or seriously injured in this incident.
In Kouango, all of our churches and some parsonages were burned.   The Pastors at Kaga Bandoro and Kouango immediately sought and established places to hold Sunday Worship services the very next Sunday at the new refugee camp.  Praise the Lord that the Gospel is going forth in these areas despite oppression.
Charlie has been invited to go to CAR to travel up to the Birao area (CAR, Chad, Sudan border) for seminar and preaching in the churches up there.  We have 3 churches in this very remote area.   Please pray for wisdom about this trip in February.  Charlie has wanted to do this trip for 15 years and because of insecurity has not been able to do it.
Please pray for our travels in the U.S. and for the country of CAR in these most difficult days.
We thank each one of our churches and individuals who love and support us with prayer and finances for us and for our ministry for His Honor and Glory.

Romans 15:13  "May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace in
believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope."

In His Service,
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
